8 months!!

Yesterday marked Calin's 8 month "birthday"!  He is growing and learning new things every day!

We had a rough photo shoot.  The boy CAN NOT sit still!  He is constantly moving and wanting to get some where! I did manage to get a few pictures, but mostly he wanted to roll around on the couch or try to dive off of it!

Calin is a little more than 19 pounds; according to our bathroom scale with Robby holding him.

He is always investigating everything around him and taking it all in with his mouth WIDE open!

He is still a very happy, social little guy who always loves to be a part of the action!

He still only has one tooth but it seems like the second one will make an appearance soon!  (We hope...)

He still loves to play with cars and lately has been pushing them around with just one finger like the picture below.

He is our little sounds effects baby.  Although it has died down in the last week, he usually picks up a car and begins to make his car noises.  It is hilarious!  He will also do it with airplanes and a helicopter too. He is very talented!

He really likes wheels.  The wheels on his big car and his little hot wheels and plastic cars.  He will turn the cars over (big and little) and spin the wheels with his hand or finger.  He also these last couple days enjoys spinning a spare wheel that hooks onto our bike trailer.  He just kept spinning it around and around.

He still LOVES books and loves to have books read to him! He has been enjoying a new "Pete the Cat: Rockin in my School Shoes".  He really loves Pete the Cat books!

He still loves to eat as well.  He is still breast feeding and having a bottle, but he loves to eat real food so much more!  His favorite seems to be sweet potatoes.  He just gobbles them right up!  In fact, I think there's a little bit of sweet potato left in the corner of his mouth in all these pictures...oops!

He is still not a great sleeper.  He has some good nights and some bad and some that are ok.  His naps are still short and all over the place.  I wish we could get a good daily schedule going, but every day is different depending on his night and whether or not he has any ok naps.  One of these days maybe he'll catch on!

He does not love anything on his head and will usually just try to take it off.  We can only keep this hat on him if we distract him.

He is trying to move all over the place and get into everything.  He is often succeeding! Although he is not fully crawling yet, he does do pretty well with his army crawl combined with scooting, rolling, turning, and eventually he can get where he wants to go.

He is trying to lift himself up onto things as well.  He is not quite pulling himself completely up yet.

He loves to be outside on the trampoline (watching for birds-he notices when they fly by and follows them), flying airplanes with Dad, riding in the stroller (now the bike trailer too), getting the mail, or just sitting on the porch or grass.

He often gets frustrated when he cant go or do what he wants to do.

He shows us more and more how smart he is (at least we think so)!  Robby showed him the moon one night on our way inside.  Then the next day Robby asked Calin where the moon was and he looked right up into the sky at the moon.  We notice little things like this and are so proud! :)

He can make the "baba", "dada", "mama" sounds.  He goes through days of each saying them a lot.  Lately he has been on "mama" and Robby thinks he says it and knows what it means.  I'm not so sure...yet. :)

He also makes lots of other noises with his mouth that are all very cute and fun!

He is still a mama's boy especially when tired or hungry.  Dad is a good substitute, but Calin has a hard time with anyone else if mom and dad are not there.  (This makes it really hard to leave him with anyone!)

Even though he is a mama's boy, HE LOVES DAD!!  He gets so excited to see him when Robby gets home from work and loves to play play play with Dad!

He is just a load of fun! We love to have him around!!

This weekend we took the bike trailer out for the first time. Calin enjoyed playing in it while we were putting it together.  It was fun and we look forward to lots of other bike rides! (I just need to get in shape more so I can pull Calin and the trailer up the hill)!

We also went to the Dinosaur museum this weekend.  It was lots of fun to see all the cool tracks!

That is one big dinosaur foot!

RUN!!

Another BIG foot!

Robby, Calin, & Grandpa Comeford

Enjoying the museum with Robby's family.
We are so happy to have such a great little boy!  We love watching him learn and grow!  It is crazy how fast time goes by and how big he is getting!  We sure do love him and are so lucky to have him in our family!!

The Latest!

This week seems to have been crazy and busy!  Here are just a few of the things we did.

Calin is working really hard to get around and making some progress!

Pretty soon he really is going to have the WHOLE WORLD in his hands!!

Tuesday we went over to Great Grandma Ila's to visit with her and Cousin Erika and her kids Parley and Ruby.  I forgot my camera and didn't get any pictures, but Calin was loving having other little kids around.  He loves to watch them play and obviously wants to get involved in the fun!

That afternoon we hurried home to meet Maria and Parker.  Parker stayed to play while Maria went to another meeting.  We love having them come to visit from Vegas!  The boys ate, played and checked each other out for a while, and then we went on a walk around the block.  When we got home from our walk Robby had just got home and we took the boys out to the trampoline.  Then we came home and put Calin down for a nap and tried to keep Parker happy until mom got back.  He was ready for her to come home!! Thanks for coming to visit!  We hope to see them again soon!

They just kept grabbing at each other's faces...trying to teach them "be soft!"

Robby caught a picture of us getting home from our walk!

Enjoying the trampoline together!

Calin helped me with my Valentine's present for Robby.  However, before we put the balloons in the house for Robby we decided to take some fun pictures of Calin.  He LOVED playing with the balloons.  He just kept looking at them with amazement and mouth wide open trying to eat them!  He is such a funny boy! Here are a few:

Happy Valentines Day!

Life This Week

The sunshine and warm weather was here all week and we LOVED it!  The weather was beautiful!  It was up in the 60's almost every afternoon this las week! We enjoyed going out in the stroller, playing on the trampoline, and going to the park!  It was great!  I sure hope spring is here to stay (although it's colder/drizzly/windy today :( so probably not). We also enjoyed having Uncle Josef here to play with!  We were glad he came down to enjoy the warm weather too!

Wearing Mom's hat...his are all too small...we need a new hat!

Enjoying the swing at the park!

We attempted to fly airplanes but are not as skilled as Robby...we broke one.

He loved to swing!

Trying out the slide!

Checking out the trampoline with Josef.

Enjoying some sunshine!

Thursday we had a playdate with Jett and Jen who were down from Pleasant Grove.  We are glad they come to visit us when they come down to St. George!  It is fun to get the boys together, but more fun for Jen and I to visit probably! We went to the park thinking the boys would fall asleep on the way (it was nap time) and then Jen and I could sit outside and enjoy the nice weather. But, Calin was his typical self and not asleep yet so we ended up just driving around for a while and visiting.  It was lots of fun.  Then we came back to our house and let the boys play for a while.

Standing together!

This was the best of both of them...they were not interested in having their pictures taken!

Today brought some colder weather, on and off cloudy, and a cold wind!  Robby was quite disappointed.  He was really looking forward to doing some stuff outside! Instead we had to improvise...

We went to the church to ride his car around and around and around!
He LOVES riding his car!

Haha! Funny face!

The last couple weeks Calin has also been playing his version of peekaboo.  It is pretty cute!

He will hold the blanket or sheet up over his head and waits for us to way "Where's Calin?" and then will peek over the top or put the blanket down.  Then we say "there he is!" and then he smiles and will usually keep playing for a little while.  He doesn't do this often, but it has been really cute the few times he has!

Rainy days in St. George

It is beautiful here in St. George right now, but a couple weekends ago it was rainy and cold all weekend which made us all sad we couldn't get out and enjoy any sunshine.  Robby was especially sad since the weekend is his time to get out during the day and play with Calin! Instead we had to find fun things to do inside...

...riding in the laundry basket...

...riding the horsey...
....riding his car (he LOVES it)...

...cruisin' on his car (I know it's blurry but loved his face!
...playing with remotes (he loves buttons!)...

...chewing on a pickle...

...taking funny pictures...

...playing with Dad's sweat band...
...taking it off...

Calin no longer likes things on his head.

We are glad the weather has improved this last week and are happy to be able to spend more time outside!!
