June Activities

June was jam-packed full of all sorts of birthdays, visitors, activities, etc.  Here is a collection of just some of the day to day stuff we did throughout June!

Both kids sleeping on Sunday morning before church!  Yea I got to get ready in peace and quiet!

Doing some Karate Kid moves.
Calin and his little friend Megan at the splash pad/river downtown!

Cheese!

This little boy got into some paint while I was feeding Clara...yikes!

Clara frequently falls asleep in dad arms like this in the evenings.

Calin has started "helping" us with the dishes!

He absolutely loved playing in the bubbles...

...so we bought some bubble bath and he had a blast!

Calin enjoyed a trip down to the river to practice his skim boarding!

And to play in the mud!

Clara came and chilled in the shade!

Enjoying some floor time one day after church!

Calin got scratched down his whole cheek in nursery.  Poor kid.

Clara chilling in the shade again at a park for our Wednesday play group.

We took lunch to Dad at work and Calin got to help with some painting!

This position cracked me up!  Funny girl.

Stories with Dad one saturday morning.

Father's Day!  We love Dad!

Enjoying some floor time on her play mat.

We stopped by Great Grandma's after Calin had his 2 year old doctors appointment.
She was awesome and did some puzzles with Calin!

Enjoying his sucker from the doctor!

Cool shades!

Enjoying Pete the Cat with Dad!

At our western themed ward party!  Calin riding off into the sunset.

Clara and Dad time!

Clara wasn't feeling well so I had to carry her around all day. :(

Clara is Calin's biggest fan.  Calin loves Clara and wants her to always be involved.
He put the hat on her, gave her the rhino and car and then told her all about the giraffe.

With all the heat Calin and Dad have been enjoying lots of evening "squirt gun" fights!

And the sprinklers are also a great way to cool off.  Calin couldn't even manage to get his suit on this night.

We have lots of "Double DC's" (diaper changes) around here! If only I could get
Calin a little more interested in going on the toilet!

Lots of Relatives!

Mid June Robby's Uncle Willy (his Dad's twin) and his family all came to visit us in St. George.  It was his Aunt and Uncle, and their three kids Michelle, Sandra, and Kevin.  Sandra has two kids Destiny and Shaia.  While they were here Robby's Aunt Dorothy was also here and his other Uncle Chuck.  It was a very busy weekend full of lots of family time and activities! Calin had a blast having more cousins to play with.  Shaia loved Calin and they both enjoyed playing together.

The weekend they were here we enjoyed celebrating Austin's birthday, Father's Day, and then Calin's birthday.  We also had fun playing with them at the park, the traditional game of HORSE, trips to the park, and lots of delicious meals!

Playing on the new hoop just after it was completed.

All the little cousins (minus Clara, she was sleeping)

Robby and his sisters, two cousins from Germany Michelle and Sandra and his cousin Jim from up north.

The Basketball Hoop

Robby's mom got everyone a new basketball hoop for Christmas.  Unfortunately it took us a little while to find the time to get it up.  Robby dug the hole in March or April ish, but then took a break because he hadn't gotten the hole big enough and needed to plan some more.

It got delayed until June when Robby had the pressure of his Germany relatives coming into town.  (they always have a game of HORSE when the family comes into town)

So the week before they came, Robby and Calin finished digging the hole to make it big enough.  And poured the cement.

Digging.  I love how serious Calin was about helping with his little shovel!

Measuring to see if it's big enough.

Putting together the base.

Finishing the cement.

Making their mark!

Covered in cement. (They finished it all up just as it was getting dark so Calin ran out in his pj's to put his hand in!)

Calin and Dad's hand prints!

Putting the post together on the next day.

Taking a gatorade break after working out in the heat.

Putting the post up with some help from Austin and Grandpa.

Putting the backboard and hoop up.

Calin taking the FIRST SHOT on the new basketball hoop!!!
They finished it all up on one of the days the relatives were here.  Just in time!!  It'll be great to get out there a little more in the evenings this fall when it's not so hot!!

*This all took place in the middle of June! (I'm just way behind!)

Calin's Birthday Celebrations!

On June 16th we celebrated our cute little boy's 2nd birthday! It was pretty laid back and nothing too over the top, but we enjoyed celebrating our fabulous little boy!

In the morning I ran and got Calin a chocolate donut with M&M's on top.  He was in heaven eating a donut with m&m's on top for breakfast.  He loves donuts and was so excited he got the whole thing to himself and got to have it for breakfast.  I also brought home a birthday balloon and he was thrilled with that!

After "breakfast" we spent some time just playing around with Calin and Clara and trying to get pictures of them both since it was also Clara's 3 months.  It was quite the project to get either of them to cooperate, but especially Calin.  He is pretty bad at posing for pictures but was even more difficult this day.  These were some of the best we got...

That morning Great Grandma Ila came by to drop off Calin's birthday card and to say hi.  We were happy to see her and have her come visit!  Here she is holding sweet Clara while she was here.

One of Calin's favorite things to eat is ramen noodles.  So we had a delicious lunch of ramen noodles.  After lunch we went and met Robby's family at our neighborhood park.  All the relatives from Robby's Dad's side of the family were all still here and they were having a picnic at the park.  We went and played for a little while before we brought Calin home to have a nap.

After Calin's nap we spent some time just with our little family opening Calin's birthday presents.  He was very excited about all of his presents! He loved opening them up and seeing what was inside! He was especially excited to get his "semi-trucks" that he had been wanting for months!  It was quite the hit! He also got a new little race track, some new books, and an awesome hot rod wagon from Dad!

After we opened gifts as a family, we went next door to Robby's parents to show off the hot rod and then had dinner with all of the relatives next door.

After dinner we invited everyone over here for cupcakes and ice cream.  Calin had quite the eventful blowing out the candles!

Then he got to eat his cupcake and ice cream.  He mostly enjoyed the ice cream and a little bit of his cupcake.

After that he enjoyed opening presents from all the rest of his family.  He was super spoiled by everyone and got lots of fun new toys and clothes.

We spent the evening hanging out with Robby's family.  We missed being able to FaceTime with my parents that night but were able to talk to them the next day.  Here is Calin showing of his new cowboy boots he got from Grandma and Grandpa Mielke.  He is still learning to love them as much as Robby and I do, but when he does wear them he looks so cute!!

It was a great day and we enjoyed celebrating our awesome little 2 year old!  We are so blessed and grateful to have such awesome families who love and spoil our kids!  We are glad Calin has so many people in his life that love him a lot! He is a very lucky little 2 year old!
