October Trip to Salt Lake

For fall break we decided to head up north to do some fun fall and Halloween things, shopping, and to spend time with family up north!  We drove up on Thursday and made our way straight to Thanksgiving Point to their Cornbelly's Corn Maze.  They also have lots of other fun activities for kids.  We had a fun filled afternoon with the kids.  They loved it and were so sad to go! We started out when we got there watching the dog show.  It was quite entertaining.  The kids especially loved when the dogs did their big jumps into the water.  After that we headed over to let the kids ride the cow train.

Waiting for the cow train they were checking out these big Halloween pics on the hay bales.

Getting ready for our ride!  Calin loved knowing the names that were written on each of the "cows" .  Each pair of cows had matching names like "Betty" and Letty".

We sure did have a monster time!

Driving the train!

They had a minion theme and so there were minions wandering around all over.
Calin was a little too friendly with the minion.

Riding the hay ride!

We opted not to do the corn maze because it is HUGE and knew the kids probably wouldn't last that long.
Thankfully they had a smaller hay maze that was the perfect length for our kids and they had fun
running around trying to find their way out.

Calin asked all day to play on this ship but there were always a million kids there.  Finally we managed to get over there when there wasn't a ton of kids and gave him a Clara a brief change to play on it before it got too crowded again.

We did a couple rides down this slide and the kids LOVED it! Thankfully the line wasn't
too long because Calin wanted to go again and again!

After the big pink slide we went over to the small kid playground area where they have tons of slides and playgrounds to climb and play on.  Calin probably could have stayed there all night. We stayed as long as we could before we needed to go and get dinner and get to our hotel to settle in and let the kids sleep.

The next day we met up with Becca to go and play at the park and then do some shopping.  Calin LOVED this park that was by Becca's house.  It had this big spiderweb that he could have played on all day.
He climbed up and down and all over.  So fun!

We did a little shopping after the park and then went and had some lunch before heading down to Provo to meet up with Erich and Allie.  We went to their house to relax and play for a bit. Then we had dinner before heading to the BYU football game!  Allie's sister was able to get us tickets since she works with the athletics department.  I was so excited to go back to a game since I hadn't  been since I graduated from BYU.  It was also fun to take the kids and expose them to BYU football!

Walking with Erich to the stadium!

All of us at the game!

Calin did really well during the game.  Clara just wanted to climb all over the place and was getting tired.
Thanks to Gabby, Allie's sister, we had another hookup to get to go and see Cosmo.  This was a much needed break for my kids, especially Clara, to get down and walk around for a bit a little before half time.
Apparently my kids like to feel the mascots because Calin did the same thing to the minions as Clara did to Cosmo.

We didn't get a great picture with both kids looking but man they sure were so excited about meeting
Cosmo and talked about it for weeks and weeks!

After a very late night at the game, we slept in and then headed over to Gardner village to visit the shops and see the witches.  It was crowded as everywhere seemed to be that weekend, but it was still fun!

Trying on some hats! They didn't have one small enough for Clara though :(

These witches were "dancing", spinning around in circles.  They were Clara's favorite.  She was dancing along with them.

These two.

At the pirates cove!

Watching the piano playing witch!

We found one to sit by!

They weren't thrilled about sitting there on their own.

Baseball playing witches!
After Gardner Village we got some lunch and then went to Becca's to let the kids relax for a little bit before we drove up to Heber to ride the pumpkin train.  It was a rainy day which wasn't ideal, but we still had a good time!
Getting ready to board the train!

Hanging with Aunt Becca!

All aboard and ready to ride!

It was about an hour train ride with some music, and pumpkin cookies and some entertainment.  I even had to ride a broomstick up and down the aisle.

After the train ride we got to pick some pumpkins from their "pumpkin patch" (an empty train car).  Then they had a haunted train car that Robby and Calin went through as well.
After the train ride we headed back to Salt Lake with Becca to meet up with Erich and Allie for dinner.  It was another busy night at the restaurants because of the Real Salt Lake game but we did finally get some dinner.  After dinner we wandered around Pet Smart before everyone had to head home.  We headed back to the hotel and then drove back to St. George the next morning.  It was a great trip and we were glad we got to go up and do so many fun things with the kids and spend time with family as well!

September!!

The Temple did story time on Mondays and we tried to make it as often as we could  It was a good reason to get out of the house and do something fun! The kids loved going and seeing the temple every week and walking around the visitors center looking at the Christ and the pictures of Christ they have there too.

We also love our Tuesday visits to the library for story time and to check out books.

We took the kids to the Rodeo for family night.  I wasn't sure how well they'd like it but both kids enjoyed watching the animals and Calin enjoyed many of the different events too!

They had lots of fun things to see and the kids loved it. Clara started to get tired around bedtime but Calin was having so much fun.  We tried to keep her happy so Calin could keep watching and we made it until around 9:30 before we decided we should get them home and to bed.  It was hard to take Calin away though since they did the bull riding at the end.  But he enjoyed what we got to see before it was time to go.

We went with our friends the Cooks.  Calin and Clara love to have Dylan around any time she can.

Robby wanted to go and watch some drag racing up on the airport hill one Saturday.  Calin loved watching with Dad.  Clara wasn't quite as excited.  We should have just sent the boys to go and watch!  Although some of the cars were pretty cool! And Clara enjoyed some of the spectators who had brought their dogs.

Love these cuties!

"Cheese"

Another temple story time.  Clara was trying so hard to color just like Calin.
She sure does love him and wants to do all that he does!

I moved the couch out away from the wall to clean one day and Calin and Clara decided they needed a fort back there.  They were reading some books together.  I love that they love to read all the time.

Calin decided to start playing with the pictures on my phone and take some selfies.

Dancing with the Wii!

Clara loves Minnie!  These pajamas are her absolute favorite and when she wears them it is quite hard to convince her to change and get dressed in the morning!
