February Fun!

February flew right by!!  After being sick all of January, February was packed full of things that needed to get done for the basement, to get caught up on life, and to continue baby girl preparations.

It has also been really nice weather a lot of the time and so we have been able to enjoy lots of outside playing, trips to the park, walks outside, windows open all day (thankfully since they painted the basement and the smell was SUPER strong), and lots of sunshine!! I have been loving it!

Here are a bunch of pictures of some of our February fun!

Went to the mall one day with Dylan and Alisha to do some shopping, play and read at Barnes and Noble, and had pretzels for lunch.  Calin loves the train table at Barnes and Noble!

Playing outside in the dirt with his dump truck one evening.
Milk mustache from drinking out of a big boy cup (he is getting really good at not using sippy cups!)
He thought he was pretty funny with a "milk face"!
Swinging outside with cousin Preston.  He loves playing with his cousins!
Calin and I before our Mom and Tot swim class!
Getting ready to go swimming! We took the class in January too, but only made it a couple times when we were both feeling good-so glad we got to do it again in February and go every time!  Calin is getting better and better in the water! He especially loves playing with the floating toys and sinking rings, singing songs (hokey pokey was his favorite), and the coyote slide.  He is good at blowing bubbles but sometimes is stubborn about doing them.  He also does kicks and swimming arms fairly well.  He can go under the water most of the time without getting water in his mouth or nose and the last day of swimming kept putting his own face in!  So proud of this little swimmer!

Hiking the Temple Quarry Hike with Robby's family last weekend.  Robby told me it was mostly flat and only about 1/2 a mile there so a mile total.  It was more like 3 miles which was actually not bad for being 37 weeks pregnant,  except for my one hip and my bladder.  Otherwise it was great to be outside in the sunshine!

A rare picture of Robby and I.  We need to take more pictures together!
Robby and Calin at temple quarry plaque.

Drink break!

A perfect little Calin seat! He was carrying a handful of rocks in both hands for the majority of the hike!

Calin did great and walked most of the way there, but definitely started to get tired on the way back...he fell asleep about 15 minutes before we made it back to the car.

A fun picnic lunch outside with Dylan and Alisha this last week.
They wanted to play in the rocks and run around instead of eating.

These two are so fun and I'm so glad we are finding little friends Calin's age he can play with that are close to us!
And I'm glad I am making new friends with their moms too!  We are often able to play outside at our house or Dylan's in the afternoon after their naps and often walk to the park a couple blocks away where they both love going down the slide!
We did our swimming class with Dylan, Alisha, Navie and Natalie.  This is Calin with his two friends on their last day of swimming.  He loves Dylan and Navie, although you couldn't tell from these pictures.

Playing with toys outside one day while we waited for Dad to get home.

Calin loves when Dad comes home!!

Having fun one night before bed.  I sure do love this little boy!!

Copying moms face!
February has truly been a whirlwind! I am excited for March to come and to get to meet our new little girl and have the basement finished, but often feel overwhelmed by how much I still feel like I need to get ready!  Guess we better get going on that long list!

Trip to Salt Lake

Valentines Day weekend we made the drive up to Provo/Salt Lake for Summer's Bridal shower.  We left Friday morning and drove up only stopping once (not intentionally-just how it worked out) and my poor legs were not happy with me.  I am so used to doing that drive and not stopping often, but being 35 weeks pregnant and not stopping enough did not make my back or my legs happy.  Oh well, I learned my lesson!

Friday afternoon we arrived, had lunch, and did some much needed baby girl shopping.  I could have bought so many things but tried to limit myself to only the things we "needed".  I am in trouble with a girl.  There are just too many cute things!  I have really been trying not to over buy though cause we had so much stuff with Calin that we didn't need.  Plus we have to get this basement paid for!!

After shopping we met up with Erich at his apartment (Allie was working) and hung out there for a while visiting and letting Calin play over there.

He then had to go to work so we went and did some more shopping until we met up with Summer and Josef for pizza at their soon to be apartment where Josef is living now.  We didn't want to go out since it was Valentines Day and we knew it would be crazy!! Robby and I aren't super big on Valentines Day so we weren't too worried about getting out to celebrate anyways.

After dinner we went back to the hotel and got Calin ready for bed and then visited with my parents for a little while once they arrived from Oregon.

The next morning I got up and left Robby and Calin still sleeping to go and meet up with all the girls for a trip to get blow outs.  Becca, Summer, Allie and I all went together and had a lovely morning getting our hair washed, dried and styled.  So fun to have someone else do your hair and make it look good!!

After our blow outs we headed over to the Lion House for a Summer's shower.  It was so fun to celebrate Summer, and visit with family.  Summer is so much fun and we are so excited to have her join our family!! So excited for the wedding and glad we were able to make it up for the shower to see everyone.  I often wish we lived closer so I could be around my family more often!

Lundberg Girl Cousins (minus a few) at the shower.
While I was "hanging out with the girls" (what Robby told Calin), Robby and Calin were "hanging out with the boys".  Robby and Calin made a trip to Hobby Lobby for some new airplanes and then met up with my dad and brothers to go to Cabelas.  I think they could both spend all day there!  Then they went to have Romanian Schuarmas (sp?) with the boys at a new place in Provo Town Center that Josef heard was pretty authentic.  They also lucked out and got to hit up the Red Balloon Toy Store and got Calin a new sticker book.

I met up with them back at the hotel after we stopped for a little shopping after there shower.  Calin and Robby had gone to take a nap.  We went a did another last minute shopping trip and then met up with everyone at Macaroni grill for dinner.  We got there a little early and hung out in the parking lot. Calin was having fun playing in the dirt and visiting with Aunt Becca, Grandma, and Grandpa.

Becca spoiled us with lots of amazingly wonderful presents for Baby Girl that evening.
So excited to use all this cute stuff!

Some cute pictures Aunt Becca got with Calin.  Becca also got Calin a new book!
Some of the family waiting to be seated. Calin was loving going through Becca's wallet
and playing with all her cards.  He loves cards and wallets!

Calin shared a bunch of Robby and I's dinner.  After he finished he went over to visit grandma and saw her big bowl of spaghetti noodles.  His eyes got SO BIG and excited and so he had a few more bites of her dinner too.   He loves noodles and can eat and eat them! No idea where they go to!?
After dinner we went back to the hotel with everyone and played a game for a while.  It was fun to just be able to hang out with the whole family and enjoy some relaxed time together.  Wish we were all closer to hang out more often!

The next morning we ate breakfast at the hotel with grandma and grandpa and then sent them on their way back to Oregon.  We went back to the room and packed up our stuff and then headed on our drive back to St. George.  It was a much longer drive with lots of stops so that my back and legs would not be quite so uncomfortable as the drive up! (I learned that lesson the hard way!)

Calin was enjoying wandering the halls and loved to push the buttons for the elevator.

Checking outside with grandma and grandpa before they leave.

It was too short a trip, but still good to be able to visit everyone and be able to go to the shower.  We are thankful to be able to travel to see them even though it isn't as often as we'd like.  We are excited to see everyone again soon for the wedding and see my parents when they come down for the arrival of baby girl and for their spring break!

Pregnancy

I have been meaning to do a post for a long time about this pregnancy, but just keep forgetting to get to it.

I have had mixed emotions about this pregnancy from the beginning.  We wanted to have another baby, but I knew that it was going to be exhausting to be pregnant and chase Calin around and then to have an almost two year old and a new baby.  However, I am lucky to be home all day and to have such an awesome, involved and supportive husband that I knew we could do it.  Even though it is new and somewhat scary I am mostly just very excited!

The nausea this pregnancy was much worse than with Calin.  However, thankfully I did not have the same cramping that I had when I was pregnant with him.  Mostly it was the nausea causing dry heaving and gagging.  Many times I just wanted to throw up to feel better.  The nausea started about 7 weeks and stuck around until somewhere in the early 20 weeks.  It is hard to pinpoint exactly whether it was 22 weeks or 25 weeks or somewhere in there because it faded in and out for a few weeks.   Poor Calin had to put up with a not so exciting mom for a lot of weeks while I tried to keep meals coming and play with him all day. Robby did a lot of cooking and we ate a lot of very unexciting meals.  Often times Robby and Calin were left to fend for themselves while I tried to avoid the smell of whatever they were eating.

Way back in October (have I really been pregnant since June!?) we found out that we were having a girl which was so so exciting!! However, at that ultrasound we also found out that I had a placenta previa (placenta is blocking the cervix).  When the ultrasound tech told me this and explained it I kind of just nodded like I knew what she was talking about.  She then said that if things didn't change I would need a c-section but she made it seem like it was no big deal and I was just thrilled to be seeing the baby and finding out it was a girl that I left not really worrying at all but just storing her information in my head.

However, once we got home I did the dumbest thing ever and looked it up on line to understand what exactly was happening.  Mostly I needed to see a diagram or picture because I was having a hard time picturing exactly what was in the way of what.  (I'm a very visual learner).   So, along with seeing what all was happening with my full previa, I read all the things that could go wrong and had a little bit of a panic attack.  The biggest worry was bleeding towards the end of pregnancy and having to go on bed rest.  It just made me worry about something happening to me or the baby and also about taking care of Calin.

I have a fantastic family though and the support from everyone gave me peace.  I know that everyone's prayers helped me to be at peace for the 12 weeks we had to wait until we could check again to see if things had changed.

The night before our 32 week ultrasound Robby gave me a blessing and I had a feeling that no matter what the outcome that things would be ok.  I honestly thought that that meant that I would need the c-section but that everything would work out.  However, we found out the next day that as my uterus had stretched and grown it had allowed for the placenta to not be in the way anymore. (It doesn't move from where it is attached on the uterus, but just "moves" with the uterus as the uterus stretches) Robby and I were both very relieved.

At that same ultrasound we found out, right after finding out the previa was good, that the baby was breech.  However, in comparison this didn't seem like a big deal to me at all. Plus I still had 8 weeks to go and knew I had time for her to flip.

Finding out that the previa was not an issue any longer was a huge blessing.  I am so thankful for the power of prayer and priesthood blessings that allowed for me to feel peace during those weeks waiting to find out.  I am grateful that I have such a supportive family who kept us in their prayers and that we were blessed because of those prayers.  I am so grateful for the love we have from our Heavenly Father and for my knowledge of the gospel and the blessings that brings into our life.

The nausea has continued every now and again but the last couple months I have also had some problems in the mornings with lightheadedness.  It seems to always come at the most inconvenient times.  Like at the dentist when I then throw up...:( Totally embarrassing! Or while substitute teaching...   It only seems to be on mornings when I have to get up and ready and going early in the morning.  So I have stopped substitute teaching for now since I have a hard time in the mornings and don't wish to have any more mornings lying on a classroom floor with students wondering what is going on with the substitute.

At my 34 week appointment I found out the baby had flipped and was no longer breech so that was another big relief! Things are going well and at my 36 week appointment yesterday everything seemed good, but we are still probably a couple weeks out.  I am getting super uncomfortable and have some pretty bad pelvic pressure, but otherwise am feeling pretty good.

I am excited to not be pregnant and to meet this little girl, but have daily panic moments about being a mom of two.  However, mostly I'm just excited and anxious to get this baby here!

Basement Update

The basement project has continued and been going since the end of November.  I feel like it has been forever and that it will never be done.  We told our contractor that it needed to be done by the end of February...that's not happening.  All I can say is he better get a move on it and get done before this baby comes!!

Here are a few pictures of where they were about two weeks ago when I took these pictures.

Right when you come down the stairs looking into the family room.

Looking over into other side of family room. . . wish we could have gotten rid of that darn support beam!
Looking down the hallway from the family room.

The bathroom.

Big bedroom.

Little bedroom.

Looking the other way down the hallway from the little bedroom.

I am so anxious to have it done and be able to start getting things organized and set up.  Most likely they will finish the basement the day or week I go into labor and I won't be able to get any work done down there for a while. :(

Having construction going on in your house is SUPER annoying.  I hate having to work around people showing up every morning, coming up and down the stairs tracking dust and dirt all over our house as they go in and out.  I hate that our house is a dusty disastrous mess.  I don't appreciate the workers using my bathroom and not washing their hands (the bathroom is connected to my room and I have heard multiple times while getting stuff done in my room the toilet flush and then the door opening without the sink running). SO GROSS.  I have disinfectant wipes in our bathroom and go in there multiple times a day and wipe everything down and then go and follow their route to the basement and out of the house and wipe the baby gate and door handles, etc.  It really bothers me.  I am tempted to put up a sign saying to wash hands if they want to use our bathroom but then feel weird explaining that I know they don't wash their hands.

The two main workers that are here (the reason why things go so slow is because there are only 2 of them) are both very nice and willing to do anything to help, but I just really want the basement done.  They started painting the last couple days (so now our house reeks of paint).  Hopefully they can get the bathroom and trim and finishing touches done fast!!

Can't wait to see how it all turns out and then be able to put it all together with furniture and decorations.
