More Summer Fun!

Somehow the rest of summer just flew by and I obviously have not been posting anything!! Mostly I have just been lazy and have not been too excited about loading pictures and getting it all organized.  However, it's a nice rainy day outside today and it's Friday!! (which means Robby is home).  So I have some free time to sit down and get caught up!

Most of our time has been spent trying to wear Calin out every day!  While Robby is at work, Calin and I have been swimming at the rec center, lots of visits to the splash pad, trips to the library, walks, playing outside in the heat (Calin does not seem to be bothered while I sit out there roasting!), and anything else we can do to keep the little man busy!  We both loved when Dad got home and could take over the fun!

Here are a few of the pictures I did manage to take of some of the things we have been doing!  I did not seem to use my cameras very much.  Oh well, we must have just been having too much fun!

24th of July
24th of July Parade with Robby's family, my uncle and aunt and grandma.  It was HOT! There was a lot of hype about the parade this year because they were doing a big 2000 stripling warrior entry and Elder Holland was coming to be in the parade too.  I was seriously disappointed in the 2000 stripling warriors.  There were only about 100.  It could have been really cool, but it was sadly not as cool as I thought it would be.   The hype brought out about 10 times more people than are normally there.  It was so busy and crowded only adding to the ridiculous heat!

Roasting in the sun!
My camera had a spaz moment so this was the best picture I got of Elder Holland.  It was cool that he came to be apart of our small town Washington parade!

After the parade the stake puts on games, food, and races at the park downtown.  This is Calin "participating" in the 1-2 year old race.  He had no idea what was going on and just stood there watching all the other kids.  In his defense he had just barely turned one and had to compete against almost 2 year olds.  Poor kid. It was pretty funny though!

After the morning festivities we drove up to Cedar mountain to a park where Robby's family all meets up for a picnic, cooling off, and baseball in the field.  Robby brought his planes and flew for awhile with Calin.

Calin enjoyed playing with the rocks all around.  This picture cracks me up.  He looks like is is ready to throw a pitch.

Robby out in the out field.  Calin and I chose to observe from the side.  The field has tons of ant hills and potholes.  I didn't want to get either of us hurt!

Calin was very entertained by these rocks for a long while!

That night we enjoyed a BBQ at Hollie and Jimmy's, fireworks out in their driveway, then the Washington city fireworks.  It was a long but fun day!
August Fun
One afternoon we went to the duck pond in Bloomington with tons of bread to feed the ducks.  To our surprise we also ended up feeding the geese, turtles and fish!

Everyone feeding the animals!

After the bread was gone, Calin was entertained by chasing the geese.

We went to the Washington County Fair with my parents while they were in town.   Calin loved seeing all these animals in the petting area.  He was just walking back and forth looking at the animals over and over.

He has no fear.  He just goes right up to them ready to play!

This picture is blurry but I love his face!

Excited to see the horse!  It was huge!!

One of the mornings that my parents were here we went on a long bike ride.  I was definitely out of shape.  I was pulling Calin in the trailer behind me as well, not easy.  My parents had a nice leisurely ride since I was going so slow!   It was fun though.  After our ride we went to the splash pad downtown.  Very nice way to cool off!

Calin loved splashing in the little fireman fountain above and sitting on the rocks watching all the kids.
Allie and Erich Wedding
On Thursday, August 15th, Calin and I drove up to Provo with my parents (Robby had to work Thursday and Friday) for Erich and Allie's wedding.  That afternoon my mom and dad went to the temple with Allie and Erich as she went through for the first time.  Calin and I stayed at the hotel while he napped.  When he woke up we went to visit my friend Angela at her new beautiful house in Lehi and got to meet he new cute little baby girl!! She was so obliging to let us come visit after they had just got back from Hawaii on a red eye the night before!  So fun to visit and see her cute family!  Thanks Ang!

After our visit we drove back to Provo, picked up dinner and headed back to the hotel.  Calin and I enjoyed a dinner in and then my friend Britney came to visit us.  It was great to see her and visit! After living with her for 2 years and sharing the teacher life for lots more it is sad not to have her in St. George anymore! So fun to visit! My parents had gone to dinner with Allie and Erich and her family at a the Spaghetti Factory.  I decided it would be easier on me and Calin not to go.  Sitting in a restaurant is hard and they were not going until like 7:30 which would be late and even harder with him.  Sad we missed out on dinner though.

Friday morning we went up Provo Canyon to help Allie and Erich and her family clean the pavilion for the reception the next day.  I mostly chased Calin around the park and kept him out of trouble while everyone else did all the work.  After cleaning we went to lunch with our family, all except Becca who was on her way down to Provo.  After lunch my mom, Becca, Calin and I went to University Mall for pedicures with all the girls of the wedding.  My mom helped watch (walk Calin in the stroller) while I had my toes done.  It was fun to get to know some of Allie's family a little better while we waited for our turns!

After pedicures, Calin, Becca, and I went back to the hotel for Calin's nap.  Robby made it into town right after Calin woke up.  We were not expecting him until right before dinner so we were glad to have him arrive a little early.  That night we had the "rehearsal dinner" at La Jolla Groves in Riverwoods in Provo.  It was all very good food and fun to hear a little from all the wedding party to the bride and groom.  There was a recurring theme in all our siblings to Erich. Apparently we used Erich a lot through his life to get him to do things for us.  Poor youngest child!

Saturday we were able to have a nice laid back morning getting ready to go to the temple since the sealing wasn't until 12:30.  We got everyone ready and there about 11:30.  Robby and I stayed outside until about 12:20 with Calin so that he would not be upset for too long.  Our good family friend Rachel watched Calin for us with her little sister.  He unfortunately cried the whole time. :( Poor girls.  He is just way too attached to Robby and I.  However, we were only gone about 40 minutes, so it wasn't too bad.  We got him calmed down when we came back out and he enjoyed looking at all the bees that were flying around all the flowers all over the temple.

Matching boys!

Our cute little wedding baby all dressed up!

The happy couple coming out of the temple!! So happy for them!

After pictures at the temple, we all rushed up the canyon to the reception and a few more pictures.  The reception was from 3-5.  Sadly it rained on and off most of the reception, but they had a pavilion so that helped and actually made it quite nice and cool instead of roasting hot!  Other than the rain, the reception was great!! Good food, good company, good music, and a great celebration for Erich and Allie.

We sent them off a little after 5 and then headed back down into Provo to get Calin some actual dinner since he had just snacked on some of our food.  Then we went miniature golfing with my parents, Josef and Summer, and Becca.  After that we enjoyed some frozen yogurt.  It was a great day!

Sunday we had another pretty lazy morning and then left about 10 to head back to St. George.  It was a great weekend and I'm so glad we got to be there with all of my family and celebrate with Allie and Erich!  So excited to have her join our family!
