Christmas Day

Christmas day was wonderful and so much fun with our two littles.  Calin especially was just so much fun to watch throughout the day.

The kids had been waking up bright and early every day we were there.  Christmas was no exception.  We kept them downstairs for a little bit but then heard some noise upstairs so took them up to discover what Santa had left.

Calin was so excited to see, but once he kind of got a peek at what was in the living room he kind of shied away.  He is so funny like that and sometimes just gets nervous.  Especially when everyone is watching him.  We finally got him to come in and see what he had got. He has loved playing with his little friend Dylan's stroller and we'd also talked with him about a lawn mower.  He was so excited when he saw that Santa had brought both!  Since Christmas he has kind of taken over Clara's stroller, but hopefully by the time she is more into it and wants to use it he will be ready to share! Plus he really likes the lawn mower too so he is just extra lucky!

Checking out what Santa brought!

Getting ready to take a stroll!
Clara can ride too!

Checking out his goodies in his stocking.

Then Calin came to come and help me check out what I got.

Clara got this tube of animals in her stocking.  Calin took over those too. ;)

Opening his present from Becca.  It was an awesome alphabet puzzle that he really likes putting together.

Clara got this cute poodle book from Becca.  It was one of the first books she actually liked to sit and read with us.

Grandpa Mielke got Calin this cool tractor set.  He LOVED it and enjoyed playing farm with Grandpa.

Clara got Calin this fun alphabet puzzle that says the name of the letters when you put them in.
Clara got hungry so she took a break and had some food while we kept opening presents.  While eating she opened a few presents.  She got this little picture puzzle from Grandpa Mielke.  She really likes to flip the little pieces over even though she doesn't know to make a picture yet!

Clara playing with her animals while we all kept opening presents.

Calin wanted to open his farm toys and played for a while while the present opening continued.

Clara got this funny pig that shakes and makes pig noises from Dad.  She quite enjoys it!
I made Calin this Superman cape and am excited to see him get lots of use out of it! (hopefully!)
Calin and Clara were spoiled rotten by everyone.  We are so lucky to have such a great family and that they love our kids so much! It was so wonderful to spend Christmas with everyone from my family together.  After the long process of everyone opening presents my parents were awesome and made our traditional Christmas breakfast of eggs, ham, sausage, and waffles.  It was delicious.

Gassing up!

After breakfast we all enjoyed lounging around and playing with new toys.  Robby and Calin went out to play in the little bit of snow we got.  We also spent some time talking to Robby's family on the phone since we couldn't get a video conference going.  We got the kids a nap too and then Robby and I went with all my siblings and spouses to go and see the Hobbit while my parents stayed home with the kids.  It was great to go out to a movie.  A rare treat for Robby and I.

Playing with one of Grandpa's presents that he got in his stocking.  This was lots of fun for Calin! Maybe a little too much fun! He made a mess overtime he played with it.

Getting some snowballs to throw.

After the movie we came home to have our big Christmas dinner that my awesome mom had been working on while we were gone.  It was delicious!  After dinner we took Calin outside to play in the snow that had been coming down and he built a snowman with Dad and Becca and Erich and Allie.

Christmas Dinner with Christmas Cracker hats!

More hats!

Clara even tried one on!

First went out to catch some snow! Then they got bundled up to play some more!

Allie and Becca with the one eyed snowman.

We bundled Clara up too and brought her out to play.

Fun in the snow!

Clara quite enjoyed herself.  Looking cute with Aunt Becca.

Calin was all about eating the snow.  He made this snowball and carried it around eating it.

Fun with mom!

Loving the snow!

After freezing, we came inside, but Calin insisted on bringing his snowball in with him.  Grandma helped us out and saved it for him in the freezer.  Later that week he took it into his tubby with him and watched it melt.
After the fun in the snow we had some reindeer races with some wind up reindeer that we had gotten in our Christmas Crackers at our Christmas dinner.  We also enjoyed some delicious trifle for dessert. After that we got the kids to bed and then played some games with everyone since it was Josef and Summer's last night with us.  They had to head back the next day to start their move to California and we were sad to see them go! It was a great Christmas day and we were so blessed to be with family and celebrate our Savior's birth.
